The BeTech Foundation proposes to launch a pilot Healthcare Certification Program focused on Phlebotomy & EKG Certification for 10 individuals from underserved communities and immigrants in the Metro New York area. This program will provide participants with an affordable and accelerated pathway into healthcare careers, specifically as Phlebotomy Technicians, EKG Technicians, and Healthcare Administrators (e.g., Front Desk or Scribe positions). The program focuses on creating long-term career stability, offering growth opportunities and pathways to U.S. citizenship. As additional fundraising and resources become available, the program is designed to scale and serve 50 individuals over time, expanding its impact.

We are starting with the Healthcare Certification Program because it offers a focused, high-demand career path in the healthcare sector, which is critical for job stability and financial security. The short training period and immediate employment opportunities allow us to measure program impact and scalability effectively. By starting with this program, the BeTech Foundation can gather key metrics before expanding into other industries and regions, ensuring maximum impact for participants.

PROGRAM APPLICATION

Pilot Program Highlights

  • Training and Certification: The program will initially enroll 10 individuals for 3-6 months of training through partners such as the Royal Learning Institute. Each participant’s training and certification costs will range between $2,200 – $3,000, covering materials, exam fees, and transportation support.
  • Total Pilot Program Cost:
    • Training Costs (10 participants): $22,000 – $30,000
    • Additional Support (Mentorship, Job Placement): $5,000 (estimated)
    • Total Pilot Cost: $27,000 – $35,000

This certification program offers a focused, high-demand career path in the healthcare sector, which is crucial for both job stability and financial security. With a short training period and immediate employment opportunities, the BeTech Foundation will be able to quickly assess the program’s impact and scalability before expanding into other fields and regions.

 

 

 

Program Phases

 

  • Phase 1: Launch the pilot program for 10 participants with initial funding for tuition, certification, and job placement.
  • Phase 2: Scale the program to 50 participants with estimated total program costs of $120,000 – $160,000 as additional funding becomes available.

  • Employment Opportunities: Participants can work in hospitals and clinics across Metro NY, earning $44,000 – $58,000/year. Advanced certifications in cardiovascular diagnostics can increase earning potential to $63,000 – $90,000/year.
  • Job Placement: The program provides mentorship and job placement services, with a goal to ensure that 70% of participants secure full-time employment within 6 months of certification. BeTech Foundation has internship partnerships with Quick Solve Medical Urgent Care PLLC in Queens and Brooklyn.
  • Resume Building: Graduates can list 160 hours of healthcare work experience upon completing the certification program.

This program addresses the unique challenges faced by individuals from underserved communities and immigrants, offering stable, well-paying jobs in healthcare. Roles like Phlebotomy Technicians and EKG Technicians are eligible for work visas such as H-1B and EB-3, creating pathways to employer-sponsored permanent residency and citizenship.
